THE
ART OF SEEING
“…WHAT SEEST THOU?” JEREMIAH 1:11,
There
are five senses in the human body for; seeing, feeling, smelling, tasting, and
hearing. Of all these, the senses of hearing and seeing, stand out. But the
most of all is the sense of SIGHT – the art of seeing.
God
takes our vision personal. So much so that in Jeremiah 1:11 He asked Jeremiah
this important question, “What do you SEE?” In the quest of finding a way to
succeed and live a happy and prosperous life, the mission of our vision cannot
be undermined.
Even
the bible agrees to this truth; you are what you think. However, the much of
what we think about in life is a product of the much we see in our lives. What
we see therefore plays a major role in a bid to succeed.
“…LIFT UP NOW THINE EYES…”
GENESIS 13:14
It
is sometimes burdensome to know how much potentials we possess inside of us and
yet cannot find ways of using it, or more so, using it in ways unsuitable for
it. In the verse of scripture above, God called Abraham and told him to “lift
up now” his eyes. Notice that He did not says “see”. But God said “lift up”.
Often times we tend to look down on things. We approach issues with negative or
wrong perceptions. But when we look up, we go up. When we look on, we go on.
“…THE LAND WHICH THOU SEEST…”
GENESIS 13:15
In
the following chapter, God inspires Abraham to broaden his horizon. God did not
say, “for all the land which you go to, or work on” but instead, He said, “for
all the land which thou seest…” this means you can achieve only AS FAR as your eyes can see.
THE MIND’S EYE

“SEE WELL”
You
are not able to achieve all you want until you begin to see. But you must see
well! A blurry vision is as good as blindness. In Matthew 8:24, there is an
account of a man healed by Jesus. When he was asked if he could see, his
response was; “I see men as trees, walking.” It is very possible to look at a
particular thing and mistake it for something else. A lot of people are seeing
their opportunities as oppositions, their breakthroughs as break outs, their
enemies as friends, and friends as enemies, etc. – you sure need a second touch
from Jesus that should make you see “every man clearly.”
“AND GOD SAW THE LIGHT” GENESIS 1:3
Finally,
Jeremiah replied, “I see…” The man, after being restored by Jesus, saw. Even
the bible records that God saw the light, which He made that it was good.
I
implore you from today to start seeing things in your mind. Ignore the day to
day hardship. Forget the turmoil in the environment. And see what you want to achieve;
what you need. See your future, your destiny, your possibilities, your
financial comfort, your wife, your children, your happy life, your success,
etc. and I can assure you;
“AS
FAR AS YOUR EYES CAN SEE, YOUR LIFE WILL MANIFEST.
NOW, WHAT DO YOU SEE?
