Set yourself on FIRE!

 Today everyone celebrates Barak Obama on his re-election as president of the United States of America, one of the strongest nations of the world if not the strongest. A journal wrote during the election week that “the decision is American, but the impact is global.” I recall Obama’s success when he was first elected. He had this slogan “Yes, I can!” and everyone else mouthed it with him. A few years before now, nobody knew anything about the man. A lot of people do not know how he started. But now he is a celebrity; the first African-American to win elections consecutively in the USA.

As I watched the celebration night, overlooking the crowd, the shouts and excitement, I could not help but said to myself, “Someday, I must be celebrated like this, if not better.” You may have also felt that way and asked if it were possible to be celebrated. Here in Nigeria, we have the likes of Obama as living legends. The man named Bishop David Oyedepo is an example; Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Pastor Chris Oyakhilome are others on the list. Though in the business world we have a few but they are there. Their lives and efforts to humanity cannot be over emphasized.

But in as much as you celebrate them, it is also possible that you too can be celebrated. Do not doubt this fact. I remember in one of Pastor Chris’ message, he said that people started noticing them when they began making impact but they have been there all along. You can be celebrated someday if you desire and stay on your purpose.

BE ON FIRE

This was a statement made by someone during a meeting. He said, “If you want to make impact, SET YOURSELF ON FIRE and the world will watch you BURN.” By this statement however, he was not saying you go pour on your body a liter of fuel and lynch yourself to death. No! what this means is that in any area you desire to make impact, do your very best to shine there. The truth is that when you see anyone on fire, you and everyone else must set gaze on him. Not the physical fire now, but in some way, people must feel you- your heat. You celebrate with Obama because you feel his heat. He is on fire. Alico Dangote is on fire and a lot of people feel his heat. Our Lord Jesus Christ was on a high fire, while he was on earth, and thousands of years after his death, we are yet to recover from that heat. You too can amount to something that will make you burn. Make your life count today.

HOW TO BE ON FIRE - Matt 24:28

If you must amount to anything in this life, it is therefore important that you possess what I call “stuff”. People would flock around you when you have something that keeps calling them. The scripture above reads,

“For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.”

The eagles will only gather where there are carcasses. People will come around you when you have something to offer. Whatever it should be would determine who and how much people you will gather. Obama did not just win because he had a fine look or that he was of an African decent; so they wanted to sympathize with him. If you followed the election campaign he was running campaigns for over 18 hours a day. And he still had time to preside over the hurricanes and flooding around the country. He was preferred than his counterpart because he possessed something more than him. There are so many pastors around but Pastor E A Adeboye stands out amongst a few. He possesses “stuff”. He has something a lot other pastors do not have; and those who have it cannot measure up in same quantity as his.

You are able to make maximum impact than you can ever imagine. All you need to do is just “POSSESS STUFF”. Be on fire. Have something a little more than the average person has. And you will command audience.

Finally my friend, what you possess tells what you gather. Some people gather vultures because they possess stinking meat. I am a living example of those who possess the meat of the eagles. I have made up my mind to be the best in what I do; to command the greatest audience. All I am going to do is possess more stuff in my area than anyone else in it.
